blessed2havekids:yes...lest we forget.
oh4agirl:
The point of my comment is, that I certainly agree that everyone should follow the rules, but, I think if everyone is too nicey, nicey, it becomes boring , (which is what Coochie was implying).
Nope, wasn't implying we need to be "nicey, nicey" and end up boring. "Heated discussion" is one thing. Being rude is another. I'm talking about everyone getting their feelings hurt because someone "bashes boys" or wants another girl. I don't like it when people comment ugly about boys. I don't like it when people "don't want a boy at all." And I don't like it when someone has one girl (or 3 or 4) and only wants 5 more. BUT - I don't feel it's my place to be rude to them and put them in their place for how they are feeling. Their feelings are in no way a reflection of the 3 boys I love in my life. I'm just talking about having a little respect because it seems to be long gone lately.
I don't know - I just think it's silly to take things soooooo personally from someone on the other side of the world who you have never met. I'm just sayin...
*Believe me... I've enjoyed more than my share of heated "discussions" on this board! They can be rather entertaining!

I actually meant the opposite, that you were saying that we didn't need to be all nicey nicey!

whatever... you'd just go and get your feelings all hurt and take everything too personal.

Fairyfloss, I totally understand. Sometimes the bad posts sneak in, and sometimes it's incredibly hard not to respond. I can't even count the number of times I've fired off a scathing reply to some posts. Fortunately, *most* of the time I can walk away for a few minutes and cool off so I can either edit what I wrote before posting or just delete it all together.
But it's definitely hard sometimes. And there are lots of times that I wish I could reach through the computer and smack people around a little bit.
I also understand how the GD boards can be a double edged sword. Sometimes they made me feel much better, but sometimes they just brought me down. You'll have to come check out the other forums some time. They're a lot of fun and a nice break from GD.
That's all I have time to say now, though, because I have to go make popcorn to eat while watching the throwdown between coochie and oh4agirl. Lol!

I understand what you are saying but the tolerance seems to only go one way.
SO true and I think that MANY take advantage of that fact and say whatever nastiness they want because it's veiled under the GD umbrella.

I've only been on here for a month or so, but in general I find this forum VERY supportive, much more supportive than other forums I've been on. I do think there is probably a little more tendancy to judge when someone already has a child of one gender and wants one of the same gender, but I also understand, since I'm sure my GD would be much worse if I had a boy and was having another boy. I've had some great support on here and am so glad to have found this forum! I think personalities come out here just like they do anywhere else, but I haven't seen anything blatantly rude - than again, I don't take too much personally. :)
