This part of the process seemed so easy for me the first time around as ds ate anything you put in front of him. His transition to solid foods and then the ones of a thicker variety went fast and was made simple for us. This time around, I have a picky eater. dd tends to eat most of her bannana oatmeal in the morning, but when I try and feed her anything else in the day, she takes 2 bites, makes a face, and does not want anymore while demanding her bottle. She does have fewer bottles in a day, but still does not seem to care for solid foods (and is able to eat the thick 2 foods). Every few days, I may get a good day of feeding out of her, but mostly not. I'm not worried about her weight or health as she is VERY healthy (my chunker) but I am more concerned about her learning to eat thicker more solid foods. With having such an eater the first time around, I am just wondering if this is normal and if I have anything to worry about down the road when trying her on other foods?

First off- I wouldn't stress, as they don't really need solids at this age.  They're still mainly for practice.  Also, she doesn't have to eat baby food.  My boys ate home-made baby food from like 6-8 months, but DD wasn't interested in solids yet, so I just skipped baby food altogether with her.  She didn't eat solids regularly until 8 months.  Then we started things like yogurt, puffs, little pieces of bread or pancake, diced pear, diced banana, etc.  She's 10.5 months now and is a great eater (and remember, she hated all solids before 8 months!).

My dd was not a big eater as still isn't. As long as you are offering her the food, she will either decide to eat it or not. One day she may surprise you or she may be a nibbler like my dd. When she is hungry she will eat. When my dd goes through grow spurts she eats lots of food but when she is not in a growth spurt she nibbles.

As long as she is healthy and active I don't think you have anything to worry about.
