I am tearing my hair out ladies! Evie is 6 weeks old and her sleep routine is completely eratic. I don't believe in rocking/cuddling to sleep all the time and I have therefore been trying to teach her to self settle .....she is not impressed! I have tried the baby whisperer's suggestion of looking out for yawns and getting her down, but it isn't particularly successful. I have tried the slumber bear with womb sounds, I have tried white noise, and I have bought a woombie which has been fairly successful but her sleep is still eratic. If she misses her morning sleep that's it! She cat naps all day but if we're out she wakes as soon as I open the car door, or if we're in, sher sleeps after a feed but wakes as soon as I put her down. I wouldn't mind but she is so mardy and bad tempered when she doesn't sleep. The main problem I suppose is that she needs to go to sleep when I'm getting ds ready for nursery and so she gets irritable and then drops off in the car but wakes as soon as we get to nursery. Argh! help! I'm debating trying the routines from the save our sleep book; has anyone else tried them??? Anyone got any advice on self settling both at home in a cot and also in car seats???? I want to enjoy her but she is sooooooo grumpy all the time :-(
Also, what time should 'bed time' be? Should I be putting her down at 7 and dream feeding her? At the minute it's anytime from 7 to 11pm depending upon how grumpy she is and whether or not she'll give in and go to sleep.
Thanks in advance for any advice
Gill
