Ahh I'm a young mommy ! Im 21 and I had my son at 19 . I also am legal gaurdian of my younger sister who is 10 so you can imagine the looks I get I hate it . Our mom passed away 7 years ago and after that my father became an abusive acholic and since I was 17 I have lived on my own and supported both myself and my sister and found an amazing man who now supports us all. We have our own house and I'm such a great mom. I believe I was born for it , some ppl are meant to be doctors and teachers and some ppl are meant to be mommys. I just really hate the looks, I have worked my butt off to make sure that my sister and children have nothing but a stable enviroment unlike me and still I get all these comments. Its hard but I wouldnt change it for the world... especially never trade lives with the people I went to highschool who can party all they want but seem to never be happy with there lives

Precisely! Thank you for that. I have never been the partier, never been to anything more than a baby shower. lol. I also think that I was born to be a mommy! I feel so much love and passion for this baby already. I miss him/her in between every appt! I cannot wait until I can hold my precioius baby in my arms.

Hey all. I was 19 when I fell pregnant, I just turned 20 on 17th Oct and baby is due 21st Dec! I'm in UK so it's a little different over here. But you still get those people looking down on you, especially as I look about 15 and so does my partner (he's 22). I jus ignore them because at the end of the day I'm not asking them to pay for my baby, nor take care of it so they can think and say what they like. How are you all doing today? xx

Hey, I'm the youngest on the board (I think) as i'm only 18. Which I just turn on the 16th of september, my son being born 2 days later. I also look very young and get constant looks from snobby people who assume I am 14ish.. I will attach a picture to proove this..
Just want to say, being a mum is the best thing that ever happened to me and my partner to become a dad, we have been together 5 years now and still going strong, much to many people's dismay. I am also from the UK - like Ashley and teenage pregnancy is what they call an 'issue' over here..
Don't listen to any negative comments, them people are not worth your time, just hold your head up high and smile, that's what I do, show the world you don't care and that you are happy in your situation.
Good luck to you. x

Hey Ashley I was 19 as well and turned 20 3 days ago. I am due Nov 22 and sooo excited! You also look young.. it is a blessing I am told but I could do without the looks and glares. Today I am getting ready for an appt with my doctor and sorting out all the washing before babs shows up. I am English thru my mum, but living in Canada!

I'm also a young mum. I was just turned 21 when I had my first, but like many of you lovely ladies have the dubious blessing (at the moment) of looking about seven years younger than I am (I got asked if I wanted a half fare on the train the other day and you have to be fifteen to get one!). I am 23 and expecting no. 2 and I'm here in Scotland, in the UK, and PPs are right - it is really a big 'deal' over here to be seen as a teen mother (I don't know why as I know loads of teen mums and they are fab). It's so silly! Honestly just ignore all those idiots. I was in my third year at uni when I got pregnant with my first DS and I ended up sitting my third year exams 41 weeks pregnant! I went on and did my fourth year with my wee boy just a few months old. I ended up getting a joint First Class Honours and doing my teaching post-grad the year after! I'm not trying to brag at all here but I just wanted to show you can still succeed as a young parent lol, as many PPs have also demonstrated. Attached a wee pic so you can see what a teeny bopper I look, lol. Honestly just ignore any of those negative doubters, you can be an awesome mum at any age and at least we will be able to keep up with our wee terrors (and be yummy mummies into the bargain!)! Good luck to all your fab young mums out there!

I'm older, 28. But I like to pretend that I'm not. I also sometimes feel in the same boat as you. Among my friends it is unheard of to start having kids before you turn 30. When I got pregnant at 25 with my DS1 it was quite the scandal. (also cause we were not trying.)
It makes me sad to hear about people passing judgments based on age. It's a very narrow-minded thing to do! One of my closest mommy-friends had her first at 16, her second at 18, her third at 23 and her at 25. She had GD with every. single. one. and she's one of the best mothers I know!
Don't let people get you down!

wee1emski where in Scotland are you hun ? I live in East Kilbride near Glasgow, only lived here for 2 years in March but love this place! I agree with a lot of people said earlier, some women are just born to be mother's.. I too believe that was for me, I think you just know. And I certainly don't think anyone has the right to tell you your not ready if you know yourself that you are.

i graduated in 2004 and when i was a senior there was 40 girls pregnant with me. i had to wear flip flops because of my feet swelling and my foot kinda went to the side a bit and the teacher was like well if you weren't pregnant you could wear regular shoes. teachers pass alot of judgement and the looks you get from them is crazy.
