I am just wondering what it's like where you're from. In Calgary, the vaccine is here but there are only 4 clinics (in a city of over a million people) and the wait times to get the vaccine are up to 6 hours. Our province was not expecting that EVERONE would want the vaccine at once. There is just so much fear and panic surrounding this flu that everyone wants it NOW. I am so frustrated because the vaccine is here but there are not enough resources to distribute it and keep up with demand. I have 3 children with asthma so I'm a little anxious (maybe too anxious) about getting it. So who has recieved the shot and how was it distributed in your part of the world.

I am in Seattle and I happened to call the pediatrician the day they got them so the 2 older kids got them (the mist) because we are considered high risk because we have an infant.  DH and I haven't found a clinic for us to get them yet.

I have been hearing about 3-4 hour lines here, and they are restricting who can get it at this point. I am not looking to get any of us vaccinated. There seems to be a lot of flu around (10% of my kids' school is out sick), but I have not heard of anyone having anything other than a mild case. We have all had colds recently and I'm wondering if it might have been H1N1 and hopefully we're done with it.

I am in the capital city in west virginia.  My family doc or pedi did not get any of the seasonal or swine flu shots, so the health dept and I were on a first name basis.   They began giving it (H1N1)  to medical professionals here first and then did a clinic for pregnant women only.  On thursday high risk children were allowed to come in for the 3 hour clinic.  My children aren't really high risk, but because they both were issued a breathing treatment machine last year for one bad case of a chest cold, they qualified.  We waited in line about an hour.   Healthy adults can't get it yet though.   Our public school system is giving them out to every child, starting with preschool if the parent wants, however only one school has been done so far....so it may take a while.   Our area school is expected to get it in 3 weeks, I am hoping that will be dose 2 for my kiddos.  I was so relieved to get the first dose for my kids, and can't wait for mine.

We are near Lexington Kentucky

Five of my  Six kids were vaccinated at our local Health Dept last week.  Baby Boy11, got the nasal mist, as he is not high risk, the (Baby GirlBaby BoyBaby Boy )  11 1/2 mos triplets and my Baby Boy 10 child with asthma needed to get the injection.  My other Baby Boy 8 was sick at the time with.....you guessed it "H1N1" so onviously he did not get vaccinated, but will get the "nasal mist" now that he is SWINE FREE.

My husband and our "pseudo nanny" were also immunized this same day, with the "nasal mist".  I would have also been immunized but I have an allergy which makes it immpossible for me to get the vaccine.  There is a shortage in our area aswell but we got lucky.

I made sure all my kids had their flu shots when they first came out back in Aug.

In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away...

I am raving mad at how it was handled in our province. People have been lining up for up to six hours to get the shot because there has been so much media hype and panic. The worst part is that my kids are at high risk because of their asthma but they were giving the shot to anyone who wanted it whether they were in the high risk groups or not. This has been a huge cluster F&^%$ free for all. Also for some reason, Doctors were not given the shot. There were only 5 locations that you could choose from. Now there is a shortage and they have stopped giving the vaccine all together until some unknown time next week.

I didn't want to wait in line with 3 kids 5 and under for the shot. I was afraid that they would catch swine with all those people around. Now I am hearing comments on FB that those who didn't get the shot didn't want it bad enough and if you love your kids you would have waited in line for them. I am feeling like crap now. really.

In other provinces the shot was given to doctors to administer to their patients. My parents in BC got theirs in 5 minutes with no fuss what so ever.

Now I am paranoid to leave the house and take the kids to school. I keep telling myself that I shouldn't buy in to all the hype and panic but it's really hard.
