and i need to come up with a short list of expectations (dont know if that is the right word) over the terms of her care. i will have the baby 2-3 days a weeks.

has anyone else been in a similar situation and could give me some advice as to what i need to get in writing?

i was thinking drop off/ pick up time, when payment is due, responsibility for baby's food, and making sure the parents keep me apprised on her schedule (nap/feed/etc)

anything else i am forgetting?

medical card number ( I dunno if you guys have health cards down there lol ).

just make sure you have a good line of communication going on every morning.. how baby slept.. if there was anything they wanted you to do differently that day.. if they think she is coming down with something. ( so it isn't a surprise to you )..

sounds like you have it all coverred..

I would assume that you need some kind of medical release so that in case of emergency you'd be able to decide on ER care.  I know that I sign something like that for preschool.  Not sure how formal it has to be.

You may want to discuss what the plan will be if you are ill.

these are all really good things!  I baby-sat our neice a couple years ago and feel like they kinda took advantage of me because I didn't tell them somethings ahead of time.  they'd drop her off the same time every morning, but pick her up anywhere between 5-7 pm.  they gave me formula, but after she turned one, they didn't provide milk or food.

I think medical info is important to know also!

I would contact your state's daycare licensing agency....not because you want to be licensed, but just to ask for the paperwork they require their providers to submit.  These documents will give you a good idea about what kinds of things are important to decide on before care is provided.

I would nicely mention somehow that they not stay forever when picking the baby up :) I watched my niece and sometimes my sis-in law would come and stay and visit for hours and I was just wanting to get a break! Maybe you could ask her to call when she is 5-10 minutes away so you could get the baby ready and all packed up? Sometimes I would want company and would call and ask her if she wanted to stay and visit after, but normally I was exhausted and needed a break :)
