Never a positve opk...

Hi, just needing some help with opks.  I have the clearbleu digital with a smiley face, so easy to read.  I havent got a positive at all and this cycle I have been testing from cd13 (33 day cycles) til now and stil negative.  I also tested 2 times yesterday and nothing.  Today though I would have thought that I was going to e positive because I am cd19, I have lower abdo pain...i think its o pain. cm hast turned into ewcm and my cervix is high.  I dont know if its open coz I cant tell but its soft.  Cm has been stretchy for quite a few days now.  We are swaying for a boy, however dh is going away tomorrow night for a few days.  What do I do?  Is it possible to get a negative always and have other signs of ovulation?  I dont do temps coz i never get good sleep.  Any thoughts.....thanks

 I would try and temp.. you need 3 to 4 hours block of sleep.. ifyou can try and get that it will help to figure out what your body is doing.. and it will give you something to hand over to your doctor to look at..

how many months have you been trying with the opks?

 I am having the same thing. I have signs that im O but a OPK is always neg

I am glad its not just me...another opk at cd20....negative.  So am just going to have to start temping.  My cm and maybe baby indicated ovulation and my pains....  gggrr i think i missed the boat!

I am the same too.  I have been checking most days now for 2 months and it always says negative.  I am a little concerned as I thought I was very regular. 

It does seem like there is a good chance you have o from all those signs.  I used to have the same when o, such as abdo pain.   Maybe you could try the temps even if you don't have much sleep and just see if a pattern occurs. I might have to start trying this.

 me too!!!  i has DS3 in Feb. & bf him (well, only 1x/day now)  started Vitex in Aug. when he was 6mos.  all the signs of O there-change in CP & CM, O pains.  haven't had PPAF yet but feel like my body is getting ready.  

wondering...do OPKs not work for some women?  (like pH strips w/ low ion strength?)

do you get any lines at all on your OPK (faint)?  or nothing at all?  how long do you wait to read?

I've been having the same thing, I have only been using OPKs for a little over a month since Ive only just started keeping track of my cycle, but i use two OPKs everyday, i thought this way there would be no way id miss a positive, but so far no luck, i have little bit of pain and CM around cd13 so i was sure this was it, but no positive!! I also only get a faint control line. Well not tooooo faint, but certainly not strong, ive also never had any kind of second line on it, i read that most people have a second line but until its stronger than the control line it doesnt count.... well id be happy to see any kind of second line D:

Sounds like some woment never get a positive....  I checked mine and i have a very feint line and didnt get anywhere near the control line.  I have the smiley face ones so I though spending the extra money would take out the guessing!!!

We dtd today, so we will see what happens.  I guess the swaying will go out the window!  I wonder if the clearblue fertility monitor would work on me?

FWIW I used OPKs daily for several months and NEVER got A POSITIVE even when i was actually ovulating!! I'm just one of those unlucky ladies then they don't work for i guess! GL

Good to read this, gives me some hope, I think i might have missed O before i started on the tests so have ages to wait, no af, no O, no pos preg test...sigh

I changes brand 2 months ago and now I don't get a positive OPK! I do get a temp rise though so I hope that means I do O?   Definately changing back.

My husband and I tried over and over for years to concieve after our son and it just wasn't happening. We gave up for a while then last summer decided to give it ONE last try for 24 solid months. We bought ovulation kits and tried for 6 months then I came across information about checking your saliva for signs of ovulation and I ordered a saliva microscope. When you are about to ovulate a fern like pattern appears on the lens, any other time of the month it's just spots. On the second month of using it in addition to the ovulation kits we got pregnant. Our son is 14 and our long awaited daughter is due in December. I will give you a link for the tester I bought as well as a cheaper one I just came across.
