I vote A...it looks so similar to the one my daughter wore for her communion in May. I got mine at Burlington Coat Factory for 39.95. Everyone thought that she looked so beautiful and that the dress was alot more expensive than it was. I originally looked at a bridal salon and their dresses started at 300.00....crazy considering that the second we got home she took it off to jump in the moon bounce we rented!!

Yeah, I'm really leaning towards A myself.  It was the first dress that caught my eye.  I think it would be pretty made out of my train too.  I think I am going to go with that one for now and see how it looks.  It's the size that I'm confused with now.  I think I'm going to order it in size 9/10.  What do you all think?  New vote!!  LOL!  She will be 7 years old but she is 2.5 now and I usually like her in size 3T.  Even if it's big we can always pay to alter it later on you know?  Do you all think a dress will turn yellow in this time frame?  We are talking 4 years from now....

I like A.  I love the idea of making the dress out of your gown.

That's a tough decision!  I like E and F the best and am leaning more towards F.  I like E because of the back of it.  F looks simple and pure, IMO.  I am not too big on the mini bride look though.  I think E and F have less of that look and that's another reason I like them best.

Yeah, me either.  Those were the only ones I can find with sleeves though.  I am super worried the Church we go to will say something about covering up.  They are strict!  I guess smaller short sleeves would be ok with them??  I don't know.  I have an appt to go over everything for my DS's communion tonight so I'm sure they will discuss attire.  I will get a good idea what to do after that.  If they don't have any specific rules, then I will probably go with A.

I love A and F (F is my FAVLove Ya!)...and they would both work well with a tie around the waist if you're worried about sizing.  Have the lady make a belt out of some of the extra fabric to cinch up the waist in case the dress is a little big for her then.

girls2mama, those are absolutely stunning!  I like starlight's choices but girls2mama's suggestions are more my taste.  They are simple with just the right touch of detail!  Beatiful!  I didn't look on page 2 before I replied earlier.  Of starlight's choices I would still pick the ones I chose earlier but if she adds the new choices in the mix I would have to pick one of girls2mama's suggestions.  GL starlight!  I know that is a really tough choice.  If you are unsure whether the church will want sleeves or not I would do sleeves.  There are some really beautiful dresses with sleeves.  Then, since you are thinking your DD may want to help choose her dress, I would let her pick from your top list.  Initially you would choose say the 3 you like most and then let her choose the one she wants to wear from that group.  Then she won't be overwhelmed with choices also.    If you have already figured all that out and I missed that post just disregardEmbarrassed

I really like that one. You brought up sleeves in an earlier post. I'm sure a seamstress could easily add cap sleeves to that one, or you could have a little satin bolero jacket made to wear with it. It's lovely! I do think the skirt stands out so much in the picture because there's petticoats underneath it, which you would need to have made into the dress or can purchase separately, like with an elastic waist.
Here to talk about mothering and more since I'm no longer TTC. I love to give support and advice!

I would go with dress A...I never liked communion dresses that look too much like little bride's dresses, but that's just me.  When I had my first communion, I refused to have a veil, so my aunt made me a little ringlet of peach satin roses to wear - I loved it!  Also, I think I would hold off on making a confirmation dress, because by that time she will have her own style and will have an opinion on what it should look like!  I remember no one got super dressy with confirmation dresses in my class, I just wore a pretty plain beige cotton dress.

Ahhh.... This is so hard they are all so pretty. i'm not a fan of the bride looking ones or the ones that go all the way down to the floor, but i'm sure you could get the seamstress to make tailor it to your needs.

I like dress A the best!!! I like dress  F second except i would ask the seamstress not to make it floor length. I like the one on page 3 (organza)  third. I also like girl2mama's dresses but i do not think they would work well with your train.

I like the idea of having my train made into a communion dress for my ddHappy Wink I will have to look into that in a few years.

Also, i would measure your son for an approximate size. I bet your dd will not be bigger than him at the same age. If anything she will probably be a little smaller.
