Beta numbers tell gender?

 I have been doing some research and I ran across an article that says the beta hcg numbers are higher for girls starting at 16dpo.  If you google "beta hcg gender" you canprobably see the study.  I looked up my numbers, and my dd did have really high numbers.  My last boy did have really low numbers.  What do you think?

12dpo 85

14dpo 229

15 dpo 368

18 dop 1667

According to betabase, these are on the high side of normal.  They are comparable to when I had my dd.  They are much higher than when I had my last boy.  His at 18dpo was only 318.  So, now too see if this is a girly baby!

Anyone else want to share numbers and do an "informal study"?

this might sound like a dumb question BUT how do you get so many beta numbers?? Not the actual number itself...its from blood tests right??

How did I get them?  From the dr's office. You have to ask for a quantitative beta, not just a pregnancy test.  I had some spotting, and I have a really great doctor.  If I ask her to do something for me, she usually will.  I would actually like one more set of numbers, but she just wants me to come in for an u/s next week now. 

You can see my #s in my siggy.... Don't have a confirm on gender yet but will in a couple of weeks.

If you don't have the numbers, I found some sites online that let you order your own lab tests (you basically pay the $ online, print out the lab order, take it to a local lab- like Quest Diagnostics or whatever they use, get your blood drawn, and they email you your lab results in a few days.) The HCG one I saw at one site was around $50....just a thought. :)

BOTH of my BOYS gave me higher beta #s.

I believe this, my OB said my betas were so high there might be more than one. I don't remember the exact number sorry. But it was just one girl. I think that's why the OWT about more m/s=girls due to the high beta's

Interesting!  I sure hope there is some truth to that.  I had my hcg levels run at 6wks due to some bleeding and cramping.  My doctor was expecting to see a number around 3000 based on the size of the gestational sac, which is all that was visible.  My numbers came back at a surprising 20,000!!  I am 13wks now and am for sure only having one baby.  Dr. said during NT scan that he thinks its a girl, so lets hope he's right.  I posted the nub pic here and over 90% say girl.

My numbers were really high this time (thought i was having another set of twins) and it was a GIRL.  Hcg numbers were normal for my BOYS....

My girl beta numbers were:

14 dpo 146

17 dpo 389

21 dpo 2009

33 dpo 25185

I think those are average/low but I'm not sure.  Before that I only had beta numbers with my first boy and I have no clue what they were so I can't compare.
