I don't think you are a creepy ogre....my DH's aunt believes much like you and swears up and down that Obama is not a legally born citizen.  Even though I laugh, because *I*  think it's crazy, I still love her to pieces....and FYI, true liberals do not shop at Walmart....*LOL*  .  Walmart does not insure their employees, which, in turn forces many state governments to give Walmart employees medicaid.  Happy ROFL

I am sure if I knew you , R & B, we would get along splendidly!

You crack me up!  ....LOL...my gun-totin' Obama-hatin'  NRA card-carryin' dad LOVES Walmart.....He won't listen to my evil conspiracy theories BEHIND Walmart as the prices there are JUST TOO GOOD!!  LOLOL   To egg my dad on sometimes I love to tell him that my sister voted for Gore....snort!  He doesn't believe me.  My dad makes me look like a yellow dog democrat! He has two issues:  he votes for NO NEW taxes and says that gun control is the most important issue...LOL.  Is it any wonder I think the way I do?

The crime itself should be punished, not the motivation behind the crime.  If 40 year old white male and a 40 year old black male are both killed by someone of another race, the person who kills the black male gets a stiffer sentence.  How is this fair?  The penalty for both crimes should be equal.  All intentional murders are due to 'hate' so who is to qualify based on race or sexual preference which crime is more abhorrent.  They are EQUALLY abhorrent.

I pretty much agree with this. While I get the motivation behind the creation of "hate crimes," I've never really understood. Why is it worse to kill someone because they're gay than it is to, say, kill someone because you want their Nikes? Aren't both murders hateful? Aren't both motivated by feelings of superiority, entitlement, and a blatant disregard for human life?

And I have to say that I do think hate crimes delve, at least shallowly, into the thought crime arena......because in order to classify it as a hate crime you'd have to be able to say that you understood the perpetrator's motivation and thought process, and unless the murderer is wearing a sign or is standing over the deceased yelling, "I killed this man because he's gay and I hate gay people!" how are you going to know what was going through his head when he commited the act?

Um,,, hello,  many do stand there and say that for one.  Second, many hate crimes are started with torture.  Hanging the person to a fence, raping them with objects, beating them, maybe leaving hateful marks on the body that are racist or sexist.  Hello , Matthew Shepard?  I think that is different then shooting someone for their nikes, although both should be punished greatly.

Obama obviously is a "special" or should we say "different" president to many and I think we all know why. So everything and anything he does or says is and will always be more scrutinized than any other President.

I wasn't going to input any more into this thread, but OMGOSH if this is ANOTHER poorly veiled reference to the fact that the president is black and that therefore anyone who doesn't agree with him is obviously a racist, I'm going to hurl.

Has it EVER occured to anyone still falling back on this silly crutch that the man could be as white as the driven snow, and it wouldn't change the opinions of those who disagree with him?????

Just in case I haven't made myself clear, THE VAST MAJORITY OF US WHO DISLIKE AND DO NOT RESPECT BARACK OBAMA FEEL THAT WAY DUE TO HIS PRINCIPLES, HIS PLATFORMS, AND HIS MORALS. THE RACE CARDS YOU BELIEVE YOU HOLD IN YOUR HANDS SHOULD HAVE BEEN FOLDED A LONG TIME AGO. Talk about petty and about hanging on to things....let it freakin' go. We are allowed to disagree with someone who is "special" or "different" without having to listen to this nonsense at every dang turn.

Yeesh.

Another thing I wanted to point out is that the Nazi reference to ANYONE makes me SICK.

I dislike Obama. With a passion. I do feel that he is trying to lead us down the wrong path and that he has a very socialist agenda. But any comparison of any government official to a Nazi is, IMO, disgusting.

Is it just because we are a younger generation that we are not aware of what the Nazis actually DID??? Horrible, horrible things. Concentration camps, working people until they died from exhaustion, killing their families, using them as medical experiments, dropping babies out of windows, experimenting with children and actually sewing a set of twins together while they were alive so their own mother had to kill them to end their suffering. If you are not aware of the horrors that the Nazis inflicted upon millions of innocent people, I suggest you read up on it.

Drawing pictures of Hitler's mustache on Obama and comparing him to a Nazi isn't an insult to Obama....it's a despicable insult to all of those who suffered the true Nazi influence and I think people who use this comparison should be ashamed. Sad

Then they're easier to prosecute, now aren't they? You've got a full confession.

So that should (and would) call for a greater punishment than someone who killed a guy for his Nikes. But what about the guy who does the same to some random woman for no reason at all, other than she was available and he could? He gets less punishment because, even though it's exactly the same crime, he wasn't "hateful" enough? That's the part I don't understand.

Now I want to be clear I am not trying to start a HUGE discussion on racism!!!!!

Yes, by all means you are intitled to disagree and by no means whatsoever am I accusing every person who does not agree with him a racist. However, it would be ignorant to pretend that some people react more strongly to every little thing because of the color of his skin. In my opinion it is obvious when people question his citizenship "he must be muslim or really born in Africa" or the fact that when he wants to address students it is a HUGE controversy. It wasn't one when Bush (or Regan for that matter) gave a speech. Does that mean that every person who does not like him, or did not want him to speak to the kids is racist, absolutely not. Still, I would be lying if I said I didn't think some people will combat this man including a harmless speach about staying in school because of his skin. I am sure there we're people who deeply disagreed with each of the previous Presidents who once addressed students in a speech, and were their speeches banned from schools? I think not. We do live in America where racism once tore this nation apart and there are still ignorant people that have passed that down from generation to generation.  Now do I walk around accussing every person of racism that does not agree with him, of course not, and I would hate to think that is all you took from that comment, but lets be realistic he is the first bi-racial President and when the thread turns from his principles or what he said in a speech, to is he muslim or really American, I have to wonder some people's motivation. That does not mean I called you a racist.

I can agree with you that some people do react more because the color of his skin.  Not me, but there are idiots everywhere that wouldn't vote for the man because of his skin color and LIKEWISE people who DID VOTE FOR HIM because of his skin color.....equally idiotic.

Now I can't judge him on whether he is or isn't a Christian...that is between him and the Lord....HOWEVER, he certainly makes me wonder if he is in fact Muslim and was a Christian just for show (votes).....and if he is then he is a liar.....it all goes back to honesty to me.  Is the man honest?  Can I trust what he is telling me?  I have to say NO on both accounts.

I don't think I called him a Nazi....if I did, I apologize.  It is repugnant....I just bought Schindler's List and watched it a couple of weeks ago, just to remind myself of the atrocities.

If you study the occult nature behind Hitler and the occult nature behind many of the secret societies (such as Skull and Bones which both Bushes were members of), the goals of them are the same.  I think this is where 'conspiracy' theorists make their comparison.  The goal is to have a one world government, one world religion, one world currency so that total control of the global poplulus can be achieved and eugenics can be implemented.  Read about the transhumanism movement and you can see that people are serious about this stuff.

Everybody do some research on The Council of Foreign Relations and the Club of Rome....see who are members...it is all our political heads in many countries.  Kissinger even said that 'Obama has been primed to be the head of the NWO'.....I'm not sure I believe this, as it may be disinfo, but he did say it.

What I have read about Hitler makes me want to vomit to be sure...he was so satanic.  If you study how he began his career and the steps he took to gain total control, it is reminiscent of some of the liberal agenda....gun control, civilian army, censored media, euthanasia/abortion....couple that with the Messianic worship he had.....all the posters of Obama with halos including paintings with him having a crown of thorns on his head....many seem to revere him as a messianic figure....I think THIS is where the Nazi reference comes in......obviously it isn't in reference to the atrocities the Nazi's perpetrated......more it is in reference to the astronomical rise to power Obama (like Hitler) has had.

You take the liberal agenda at face value:

gun control so that crime will be less

civilian army so that people can give back to society and make the country better

censored media...making sure both sides are represented equal and balanced

euthanasia/abortion....why should someone have to continue to suffer if their life isn't worth living..likewise why should a baby be born that will just suffer and ultimately freedom to choose for ourselves being the most important thing

You can see why liberals could support these things......with good loving hearts, it sounds good in theory....who would want freedom and less crime?

BUT...now look at the abuses of such legislation:

once the populus has no guns, the government can take over

civilian army....first voluntary then forced, dictator controlled and indoctrinate kids EARLY away from their parents so they follow the state whatever the cost

Censored media...make the masses fall in line by not giving them the truth

Euthanasia/abortions: Now the state decides who is worthy to live or die....look at China with their forced abortions....no longer any freedom of Choice

The further we erode our liberties, the more control the government has, the more chance of abuse of power.

If they can finally make a one world government, it is all over....there is no where to flee to....no country to invade and stop the atrocities that will take place.  THIS is the fear of the conspiracy theorist....and libertarians.

yes, this system works well if you have an honest person at the head, but it just takes one corrupt politician to sneak in.....hmm...we don't know any corrupt politicans do we?  They are all honest and serve the public interests solely, don't they?...LOL

R&b, I agree with the socialistic similarities, and I wasn't calling you or anyone else out in specific...I have just seen the Nazi reference rearing its head frequently and it makes me angry. CG, I don't doubt that you're aware not all conservatives are racist. But it's a concept that is parroted ad nauseum by the liberal media and many liberals and it is so tiring. I think the number of people who are against obama because of his skin color is HIGHLY overestimated by the left. I don't know if he's Muslim or Christian, and I don't care...I don't know for sure where he was born (though I accept that he is a citizen), and again I don't care....Those things, and several others which lead me to believe he is being less than forthcoming, have nothing to do with race, but with his honesty and transparency. Back to the original post, I wasn't aware that the speech had actually been banned anywhere? If it was, I think that's wrong. And again, I think that if people had read the speech ahead of time, as they were given the opportunity to do (and IMO had a duty to do) they would have seen that anything objectionable had been removed and it was a totally benign speech. So while I understood the irritation with the speech's lesson plans in its original form, I definitely did NOT understand the furor after its revision.

My sister was the wiggles chiropractor while they were touring in New England.  My kids and i were able to meet them and hang out with them.  They are all great guys.  Jeff, the shortest one, is almost 6 feet tall.  Of course, my son cried when he met them......this was a few years ago.....Anthony is the best and funniest wiggle.  And, before he married his wife, I heard he was the most eligible bachelor in Australia.  lol....
