Here's the "story"
Got to the hospital at 8 that morning. Dr came in at 9 and broke water and they started the Pitocin. At 10:45 my contractions were 2-3 minutes apart but I was still only 5 cm but decided to go ahead with the epi (nurse said it'd be about 30 minutes before I'd actually get it and I was starting to feel "uncomfortable" The nurse came in around 11:20 got epi. Told me that I wouldn't be completely numb like I had previously before( I couldn't feel anything). This time I could still move my legs but I didn't feel the contractions. Nurse kept coming in every hour and checking me and I was only at 7cm by 2pm. Well the epi had started to wear off pretty good (about 2:45) and the contractions were hurting bad so I asked to nurse to do something haha. She gave me more whatever it was but it didn't help at all and by 3:30 I was ready to get that baby OUT!!!! Well, I wasn't allowed to start pushing since my cervix wasn't quite ready and she said I'd tear or rip my cervix. Figures lol. Well luckily about 20 minutes later she checked again and said to go ahead and PUSH. By 4:03 her head was crowning and doc was on her way( her office is in the hospital). Well, I DID NOT want to wait and nurse said "No, No don't push" How dare they tell a pregnant very much in pain lady to not push!!!!!
Ok, breathe.....breathe......doc ran in and said "OK... PUSH"!!! YEAHHHHH.
......3 long pushes and out Naomi came. No episiotomy either, thankfully! So only 20 minutes of pushing wasn't bad but I wasn't hapy about the nurse not letting me be more "numb". Oh well, it's over and she's here and a wonderful baby! I have to wait 3 days til I can nurse b/c of ABO Incompatibility so her doc said formula and sun then we're good to go. I did get to nurse yesterday and she's a pro!
Thanks for all the congrats and good luck to the rest of the Sept mommies and babies!!!!!!!!!!
