I like Moms Who Specialize.  What the heck does the S stand for in MOOGS?  If it's just to make it plural, shouldn't it be MOOGs?  I personally wouldn't want to be called a MOOG it sounds like something bad.

Why is MOOGS winning?  I think it sucks!  Makes us sound like a bunch of fat, whining cows....

"MOOOOOOOOOOOG!  I wish I had a daughter/son." *chomp, chomp, chomp*

I voted Moving Beyond Gender because the MOOGS one does not include dads, and there are a rare few on here. As well, it exactly states what the forum's purpose is. I like it.

I dont have anything against the "MOOG" variant but I do object to the purposes of the forum

being "we are going to have to experience only half of motherhood" - to me that sounds devastating

and as I feel personally about this and want to bring on to others here, so not true.

The forum should have the purpose of overcoming all the daily struggles and

old steretypes that at times get thrown at us, parents of all one gender - and make

us feel good about the place that we are at right now. I guess that is were my

suggested name "Moving beyond gender" has its origin.

I voted for moms who specialize since I thought that described it best.

I have to throw in that I didn't like the part about only experiencing half of motherhood.(Maybe because I've had that fear before that I was only getting half of it) I feel that even though I only have 1 gender that I'm still getting the full experience since when it comes down to it, boys and girls are the same in many ways. It seems that the differences between them are the things like the way they dress, things they're intersted in. It just makes me sad to think of being half a parent, kwim? I know what AprilMay is trying to covey because like I said, I've had that thought before too. I just don't want to think of that as true and I don't want her or anyone else to think that they are only 1/2 a parent because we are all 100% mom! Happy Smile

Sorry, I'm babbling, I'm pregnant and hormonal and needed to say that, now I'm done. Stick out tongue

LOL! I totally worded that "half of motherhood" thing wrong. I guess what I  meant is that I want this forum to be a place where Parents (see? I didn't leave out dads!) can share their feelings (and yes, often sad feelings) about facing the fact that they will NEVER have a DD or DS. And let's face it. There ARE some things we will miss out on! It's a fact. I even wrote a tongue-in-cheek post about it once. I think it should be a safe place where we can vent if we want to. I need to vent sometimes! Life is like that.

Hmm. MOOGs is still winning. MOOving beyond gender is in second place. But we can't forget those Dads. Poo. Oh HEY...we could be POOGs. Happy ROFL
