If doctor is guessing weight - how much does baby weigh?

Hi guys,

Only just noticed this thread and glad there are some discussions for the larger babes and smaller babes.

I have just come back from 31-32 week U/S and bub (which is my second) is 4lb 2oz, they thought I was rather measuring larger so thats why I had a growth scan. Apparently babes are supposed to be between 3lb 7 and 3 lb 12 oz at this stage, so I am not way over...I don't think. My first was 7lb 13 oz, so we will see!!

 I had a grwoth scan last Friday as I was measuring small, my baby is a little one measuring 3.7 pounds at 33 weeks

 Hey Alana so rry to hear about your baby sweetie... Mine is not far behind and they are checking every week to see fluid levels and growth so I hope they are doing the same for you

You are so sweet to ask!  Last Tuesday, at about 32 1/2 weeks they were 3.5lbs and 4.5lbs.  18th percentile and 50th percentile.  So despite my lack of weight gain they are still growing at about the same rate they were before.  They have Baby B (the 3.5lb-er) classified as IUGR (intra-uterine growth restriction), but since she is still growing and above 10th percentile they are going to leave them be for now.  I get another growth scan in two weeks - I'll be about 35.5 weeks then.

Renne - I am glad to hear that Baby A is in the 50th percentile, that is perfect! Baby B seems to be doing well for the time being so hopefully she will continue to grow and they won't get them out early. You have done so good to make it this far!

Thanks Hun, Yeah they have been checking weekly and as long as she is still growing they said that will be happy at this stage. what have been your estimated weights?

Butting in again )I feel connected to you all since there's a very good chance I'll deliver in Nov).  At my last scan (28 weeks), babies were 2.5 lbs each, which is average per my twins book.  Next scan is Tuesday (=31 weeks).

Well, back from 35 week scan and baby is now estimated to be 6 lbs and 10 ounces and is still in the 80th percentile. He's a big one!

Have they talked about inducing early?  Well hopefully they are wrong and she comes out bigger!

Aww sorry to hear that honey. Mine at 34 weeks and 3 days was 4 lbs 12 oz so our babies are about the same size..... My DS #1 was 5 lbs 4 oz when he was born and didn't need any help breathing or stayed in the hospital. You still have 4 more weeks left so I am hoping your little one will gain more weight..... I am here if you need to talk and just remember it's just an estimate
