Quick note about HPT

I'm no expert, but I just wanted to share my experience with you girls in case it might be of help. 

10 DPO and 11 DPO I tested with some flimsy sample HPT sent when I rented an Ovacue last month. Both came back negative.  12 DPO I went out and bought Clear Blue Digital and it came back BFP.  Today 14 DPO just for fun, I tested with another one of those tests sent with my Ovacue and BFN.  I tested again with Earlypregnancy.com HPT and got faint line- but for sure BFP.  I did test this afternoon around 4pm, but I think it's pretty clear that not all HPTs are the same.

Really good to know because my IC keep reading negative so I was wondering if I should try another test.

9 DPO I first used the $ tree tests and bfn. I just had a feeling so I got frer with fmu and LIGHT bfp. Showed DH and he said hummmm maybe?? So same day he went and got walmart brand and clearblue easy digi. With saving up for a couple of hours the walmart brand was def. bfp and not even with fmu. It was more clear than the frer but still light. I tried a clear digi with same sample as the walmart brand and not pregnant popped up. DH said that he would believe it when the digi said so. I figured it would take a couple days to show on that but I had 4 more so I planned one every morning until it showed. I didnt have to wait long... I woke DH up at 5 am the next morning to show him the digi bfp! I did use another $ tree test at 14-15 DPO and it was VERY faint and my betas came back with  GOOD numbers. I do not like those for early testing!

Thanks for the info. I stopped testing at 13dpo with internet cheapies because I was getting BFN's and now I am 15dpo and AF hasn't shown yet. I am suppose to start today but it doesn't feel like it so maybe I will have to run and get a different test.

 Supposidly the First Response is the most sensitive and our Walmart sells 3 for $14 I think?  But I didn't buy it cause I have some tests here but now I regret it because I read online just HOW sensitive they are compared to the rest.  Gonna have to get some tomorrow if I don't get a BFP tomorrow, which is unlikely since it will only be 5 1/2dpo!  :D

Everyone swears by the frer but I got a darker line from the equate later in the day than the frer with fmu! Fluke maybe? Or maybe the hcg was stronger later in the day?

 I found this chart and thought it might be helpfull!  This is what I use to base which test I purchase.  Hope this makes it a little easier ladies ! 

What is the mIU #?  Do you want it to be higher?

An hCG level of less than 5mIU/ml is considered negative for pregnancy, and anything above 25mIU/ml is considered positive for pregnancy.

You want the tests that measure a lower mIU of hCG, so you'll know you are pregnant sooner.
