Hi everyone, I am new here. This seems like a great website. I had my 12 week sonogram today. I would love opinions on if it is a boy or girl. I got an idea of what it might be from the pictures here. I am excited! Please tell me what you think!

What are evaporation lines. I keep on getting faint lines but its just too early to be testing. all the other tests are coming back negative and i really dont feel any pregnancy signs. Could those faint lines be evaporation lines...how do you know the difference bw real lines and evaporation lines....how can they have tests out there that give false positives?

okay, i know you are probably all sick of calming my mind. and i wish i could say that i have been able to relax, but alas, i can't. i am still having panic attacks over this. i am planning on paying out of pocket for a 3d ultrasound, but i still have to wait 5 weeks for it. i hope the stress doesnt drive me crazy. i have been too afraid to commit to the idea, to buy blue, to name him, get attached to him, etc. i really cant express how much gratitude i feel over all of the "its definitely a boy" comments on my last thread. they have really helped. but i have a different question now. when looking at my pictures, WHAT is it exactly about them that makes it positive that we are looking at a penis and not a cord? obviously i know the difference between a boy shot and a girl shot- but i am trying to figure out what the cord looks like and what the penis looks like. all the "boy" ultrasound pictures i have seen have been so clear, so painfully obvious that it is a boy- and mine is so iffy. it looks like three long lines (i know boys have 3 lines too- but so does a cord!) how can i be positive that this is a penis and not a cord. can somebody please explain to me the difference and really show me what we are looking at. i see no "turtle", no "hot dog" no 3 dots, no scrotum, just something dangling between the legs. and in my second picture.. it really does look like it could be cord since the cord is also in the pic. what am i looking at here?? the tech did give me 95% confirmation at 19 weeks, but she seemed kind of rushed and annoyed when i asked questions. it wasnt the best experience and i wish i could have asked more questions, etc. so anyway, i will attach my pics in the next 2 posts. and then that will be the last time i post them. i really do appreciate all of you ladies and your wise insight. i know nothing about ultrasounds, and i never questioned any of my girl shots, but this time i am just so afraid of this being wrong. please help this momma relax!

I saw New Moon

Last night I saw New Moon at the midnight showing. This is something I normally wouldn't do being 9 months pregnant and all,but I love the twilight books so much and a friend gave me a free ticket:)

I loved it. It was so good. I think they did a pretty good job portraying the book.

I'm curious whether you were able to control the pain after your C section with something other than hard-core painkillers like morphine and vicadin (sp?). I really don't want to be all drowsy, nauseous, and out-of-it after the birth. Is there any way I can get away with advil or something like that?

After 5 miscarriages and a molar, we finally had our first miracle baby in 2007 ~ a little girl named Maddie! I'm now 13wks pregnant with #2 and we're really hoping this is our little man.

I really feel like this is a boy and the sonographer at our NT scan said boy, but we won't find out for sure for a few more weeks. Of course I'd be happy with another girl, but I have always wanted a son :) As long as s/he's healthy, right? Anyhow, I'll post the NT photo I have ~ maybe y'all can help guess...I think I see boy bits and it's killin' me not to know!

I called to make an appt for a private u/s since my dr is being an arse about it and I was totally shocked when they told me I could come in today!! Woo-hoo!!!

**Update** - Just got home had to do a little shopping for our precious to be!!! We are over the moon! Seeing that sweet little face just melted my heart I joked with my dh that he won't be getting a "daddy's girl" that I'll be getting another "mommy's boy"..hehe. Anyway we are thrilled and I'll try and get some pics up in a bit!!

So I had 15w2d ultrasound today, baby measured right on. I asked the tech if she would take a look and make a guess........she said no that she wont ever do that until 18+weeks . So I asked her if she would "go to that area" and let me take a guess. She agreed, went down between the legs for literally 3 seconds, took a pic, and that was that. So I have no idea if these pics show anything gender or not, would love any and all guesses and opinions!!

Choosing schools and ASD

I never thought it would be so hard

DS is enrolled in Prep (pre-grade 1) at one school. He has to redo Prep but we have had like only a month to choose whether we stay here or go to another school with a Special Ed Program. We have about 2 weeks left to make that decision.

On the one hand his current school is very small (350 students). His teacher next year is wonderful (he has her this year). They may get some funding etc. All very minimal. No other ASD kids or very many SN kids iykwim.

The new school on the other hand has a Special Ed Program up and running. Resources galore. Are aware of ASD, know the paperwork, can run special programs, help the kids, have a special place for kids to go if they are over whelmed or having difficulties etc. They all seem very nice. They do have a lot more kids with 'special needs'. The school is a lot larger (student wise) and more overwhelming for my son.

It probably looks like a no brainer as to where I should take him. Really I know the answer, I just didn't think it would upset me so much to move him. Aside from the funding and support issue my concern is if he stayed at his current school and got an awful teacher in a year or two, that would not go well for him and his learning and he would have minimal support. Where as if the same occurred at the new school at least he would have the SEP to back him up.

I hate this. I feel like I can't win a trick at the moment. DS' teacher has been working really hard to try and set up programs and implement new strategies to help him learn and cope etc. She is devestated he is leaving. I feel terrible about that but know I can't stay because he won't have her forever. And of course his class has been talking about moving on to grade 1 and have seen the yr 1 classrooms and DS doesn't understand, no matter what, he won't be moving on with them. Honestly. I really didn't think all this would upset me so much. Maybe the fact that I have to make a decision without knowing how it will unfold is what's bugging me the most. I don't want to make the wrong decision. Where is that crystal ball when you need it?

No 12 week ultrasound?? Is this normal? :(

I was so hoping I would be able to get a 12 week ultrasound like most of the ladies on ingender. But when I called about blood results, and to make my first appointment, they said they won't accept me for my first appointment until I am 10 weeks along. Even then, it is just "orientation" and "information" with a nurse.

I asked about when I would get my first ultrasound and she said that in a typical pregnancy, they don't give an ultrasound until 18-20 weeks. This made me kinda sad that while most pregnant women get a 12 week I will not. I think I am bummed I won't get to see the nub, and I won't get the chance to guess the sex like most of you. :(

So how typical is this? Do most Dr's see their patients before 12-14 weeks? Do most Dr's order ultrasounds before 18 weeks?

Opinions please!!!

Hi ladies. I have 4 wonderful boys and am 16 weeks pregnant. Today at my checkup, my doc did a surprise u/s, just for fun. She said she's anxious to see what I'm having :) Anyway, right off the bat, I think I know what I'm seeing. She smiles and asks if I have a guess. I said girl and she said yep. We only found out the sex with one of our boys and it was VERY clear the minute the u/s started. She searched for 10 minutes and never saw a penis. I am in shock and am having a hard time beleiving it's a girl. I'd love to hear opions on the pics. Two of them were your traditional potty shots. The other is a front view. You can see a front view of the crotch and then the belly and then the head facing front. Thank you in advance! I am so excited but at the same time don't want to get my hopes up too much just in case.

We swayed heavily for a girl, but after having my 12 week scan today they dated me at 12 weeks 5 days, I believe it looks like another boy :( although i dont entirely understand the nub theory i think if what im looking at is a nub then its probably another boy, though im really hoping im wrong, please please help me out here and let me know what you think.

so Saturday I spent the day wandering around Toronto with my mum and gran, lots of walking... she was giving me a hard time towards the middle part of my outing... sending pain down my thighs and closer to what I thought was my bum! then some cramps and then nothing... then Sunday I went for a hike in the woods with my mum, gran and boxer dog and that tired me out, then we had to go get Karl's gran from the airport and as we left the airport in the car, I had the same cramps and worse pain in my thighs. ugh my body temp rose and I was getting reaaaallly hot in the car. still no baby! so I washed some more clothes and decided she can stop playing mind games now. lol.

OH! and this is day 5 of battling the worst illness ever. started off with a sore throat, now coughing hardcore... achy joints *(but might just be from pregnancy)* and yesterday was vomiting. can it get any better?

I have this theory that you all get sick before you have your babies... thats how it seemed lol so maybe its a sign!
