I am not TTC so it may sound like I have no say in this but I will do that anyways...and that is

that I am a firm believer in the TW-theory.

This being said, I do think that staying too long on a very restrictive diet may be harmful, not only to yourseölf but also for the eventual fetus. It says

in itself that living on youghurt and craisins (if that was the case) is not very healthy long term.

Both chromosomal defects as well as spina bifida

has been linked to deficiencies and therefore it is very likely that other abnormalities can be so too.

As much as I can understand that some women would like to do 110% in getting their desired gender

I hope that noone will ever jeopardize their own or their babys health.

Most studies are done with either a bias or have limitations put on them for one reason or another. It can be easy to be ignorant toward some facts when a study is done with a bias, but when you want the whole story we must question everything until the facts are stripped bare, and that is very hard to do in regard to gender outcome and what has influenced that outcome.

Well done :)

Your blog is great! Thank you for the detailed information. I have a question for you -- Do you know if high testosterone levels commonly lead to delivery and breastfeeding issues? I had problems with both (failure to progress, low/no milk supply). Might they be connected to high testosterone? I also used to eat a lot of meat, and I exercise six days a week. Like you, I have noticed a lot of changes in my moods since going on the girl diet seven weeks ago. I also cut weight lifting out of my workout.

Thanks for your thoughts on the issue. I have two boys, and I am TTC a girl in about two weeks.

~Jessica

I'm wondering if your son is night-weaned. Prolactin levels are highest at nighttime, so those feedings tend to keep AF at bay the longest. If you are nursing at night, try giving a bottle of expressed milk or formula instead and see if that changes things. That will keep you from having to add vitex.

I have two sons and both were conceived when I gained a small amount of weight (3-5 pounds) prior to conceiving.

I'm nursing my youngest son now and am thinking about what I can do to conceive a girl. Have you thought about "crash" dieting the week or two prior to ovulation in order to trick your body into thinking there was a famine? That might delay O however.

Also, you wrote about not having AF back yet (me either). With my oldest, I had to reduce feedings to just 3 times a day to get AF back at 13 months postpartum.

I have also heard that vitex can be useful in breastfeeding women to resume ovulation.

see the liver is very much involved in the insulin and glucose functions and as you have found out those

things DO affect gender. The clue here could be that

those with autoimmun diseases have reduced liver function that impacts the insulin/glucose levels...

Meaning that those individuals always have higher

levels of blood sugar in their bodies...
