Just an update that the twins recently turned two.
They are doing great! So is their big brother, who is now six.
A little about the girls - Baby A is still a bit bigger, chubbier and louder. She is a bit of a cuddler and likes to suck her thumb. But watch out because she can get really cranky! She ends up spending the most time in timeout.
She sings the most and enjoys having books read to her. She's generally friendly, but can be a little cautious and shy with strangers.
Baby B is a little sweetheart. She's extremely clever and learns a lot quickly. She knows all her colors and can count into the teens. She also knows 'big' from 'small' and is rather fascinated by it! lol She also knows shapes and can identify them consistently. She has a soft little voice. She is very curious and not scared of much. When we go to the park, she will zip right off to chase squirrels and birds. lol!
DS is still a wonderful big brother. He plays so well with the girls and helps us with them. Generally he is very patient and tolerant with them. Occasionally they annoy him by taking his favorite toys or fiddling with the TV when he is trying to watch. Overall they tend to have a lot of fun together.
So overall, family life is going pretty well. Although our house can get pretty noisy sometimes, lol.
DH and I both continue to work full-time. So the girls are in daycare all week. They seem to really enjoy it there. DS goes to an after-school program at the local YMCA. That has worked out really well.
As shown in my avatar, I am currently doing an MBA. I did the GMAT when the girls turned one and started school last fall. I am studying part-time and will graduate in the spring of next year. This period is very busy for us so I will look forward to that!!! lol My favorite classes so far have been Strategy and Competition, and Marketing (I was surprised). I am finding the learning experience interesting and rewarding, and it has improved my business understanding and professional confidence. So totally worth it so far. Although, work, family and studying is about the max I can handle (especially without help or family near us), so I will be glad to finish! lol DH is doing great doing family duty alone when I am not available. He's really supportive of my career. He says we are 'betting on the right horse'. lol!!
Bottom line - we love our family and are thrilled with our outcome. My GD/EGD days are way over, and we rarely think about that period any more. The girls seems to be doing great, totally normal, so we usually forget how we came to have them. I'd totally encourage anyone down the HT path if they feel it is right for them. It's worked out so great for us.
