I beg to differ with this statement by Dr.Wang

"But it has given only four refunds so far out of a total of more than 4,000 tests done since this summer, said its scientific director, Dr. C. N. Wang. That is precisely the number of false results one would expect with a 99.9 percent accuracy rate"

Here is my issue, have all 4000 of these women delivered? If not than that means the stats are not 99.9% We would need to know the number that have delivered. I am no math whiz, but correct me if I am wrong. For example, if only 25 women have birthed, than that means it is only 84% accurate right? So basically we WERE his test market.

So what they are basically saying is that because I know there was never a "vanishing twin" then there is probably something genetically abnormal with my child because 4 ultrasounds conclude that acu gen was wrong! Thanks to them for making us pregnant women even more worried than we already are about the health of our unborn babies!

Hi April, If you haven't aleady, please click on "Forums" at the top and see some posts from other women who have had ultrasounds that do not agree with their results, I hope it will make your feel better to talk with some other women who are going through the same thing.

I was alerted to this article by my coworkers, and was very suprised to learn that the test has only been on the market since June! I had the test done in August, about 13 weeks into my pregnancy, and it said I was definately having a girl. I was so excited! I had the name picked out, made a website, and started buying clothes for my little girl. At my ultrasound a couple weeks ago, I was shattered to find out its a boy, most definately a boy! I checked the baby gender mentor website, and I will get a 200% refund once I have the birth certificate, but I'm very skeptical now. The article in today's Globe said 4000 people have used the test since June, and only 4 refunds have been given. But I can't help but wonder how many babies could have been born, if the test just came out a few months ago? I chat on an online board with other pregnant women, and there are definately more than a dozen other women in my situation, just on one board alone, just waiting to get a birth certificate. I would be interested to know if any lawsuits come up in the meantime....
