Dr. Wang informed the mother she should be very concerned because her baby is not genetically female and should be checked to see if she has a uterus or ovaries. Acu-Gen tested 3 times with boy result. Because u/s did not show a boy, Acu-Gen advised Melissa to have an amnio, claiming test showed biomarkers for "ambiguous genitalia". Amnio and other genetic testing shows normal female. Refunded test amount only (100%, not 200%). Melissa has sent amnio results for remainder of refund. Baby Violet was born on 12/27, and she is a girl with perfectly normal genitals. However, Violet does have a birth defect of her esophogus.

CVS result is boy. Due to conflict with BGM, hospital retested placental sample, and found not only normal boy XY karyotype but normal girl XX karyotype as well. Two early u/s appear to be boy. Possible explanations: a) Maternal contamination, happens in 1% of CVS b) Baby is a chimera (extremely rare) or c) Female vanishing twin. (None of these would explain why BGM did not detect male XY.) $550 refunded before birth by Acu-Gen based on CVS
